Microbe is an all-in one electronic music studio for PalmOS Handhelds. Thanks to its 8 tracks drum machine, its 2 monophonic synthesizers and 18 effect plug-ins, it can generate a large palette of cool electronic sounds, rhythms and sequences. You are a DJ and want a tool to generate fill-ins, drum patterns, basslines or sampled jingles? You like composing music while commuting? You want to extend your studio with a small device full of exciting sounds and realtime possibilities? You dont know how to compose music but youd love to learn the basics of composition for Techno, House, Trance or Electro? Microbe is the perfect application for you! General architecture: 2 monophonic synthesizers with 4 waveforms, low-pass resonant filter with envelope. 1 drum machine with 8 sampled instruments. Filter and envelope settings are available for 2 groups of instruments. 16 Steps sequencer, 32 patterns. 2 modes: pattern chains and song. Sample loader: The 8 samples used by the drum machine can be modified. Samples can be loaded from .wav files stored on the memory card or from SamplePacks. SamplePacks are thematic collections of samples packed into a single database - you can download some of them for free. Effects: Two send effect buses are available, as well as an extra global effects. Open plug-in architecture - new effects are added with each update, and you can even develop your own! Reverb, chorus, flanger, phaser, pitch-shifting, distortion, EQ, and many more effects! Editing: Intuitive TB-303/TR-808 like interface. Alternative editors: grid for the rhythmic patterns, piano roll for the synthesizers. Pattern copy, swap, or masking. Transposition. XY pad: You can control two synthesis parameters in realtime with the position of your stylus or your finger on the touchscreen! Song editor, in which you can create a song by chaining and sequencing patterns. Other features: Support of the 160x160, 160x240, 320x320 and 320x480 screen modes. Wav file Rendering.
