Software Description:
Journey to the distant mountains of Ness, hatch the mystery egg and grow your own pet monster. As Nessy grows you are led through a series of motivating computer games that follow a structured reading and spelling programme devised by specialist teachers. Nessy GamesPlayer uses game-based learning with graphics and games that meet the high demands of today's children.
GamesPlayer is great as a support for the Nessy Learning Programme or can be followed independently. The range of difficulty options makes GamesPlayer suitable for both gifted children and those who need additional support.
Homework Mode includes a recording facility that allows children to record their own words to play with the computer games or you can access 1200 pre-recorded words plus many graded sentences, including key words from the National Literacy Strategy. GamesPlayer guides your child without supervision; just leave them to it and see the benefits in confidence and ability. It helps children to improve their spelling, extend their vocabulary and increase their reading speed. As a final reward, secret words will unlock a 'pet' Nessy that children can keep as their very own on their computer desktop!
