Software Description:
save_vm is an application for saving VMWare-ESX-Server vitual machine diskfiles to a Legato Networker Server. This can be done manual or by scheduled tasks.A special feature of save_vm is - it is able to search a specified VM in a environment of a large (two ore more) number of ESX-servers with active vmotion.If vmotion is automatic used (with virtual center) or also manual, it is impossible to configure the Networker client propper for the console OS of an ESX-Server, to save the diskfiles of virtual machines (the VM can be on any of the ESX-servers in the ESX-farm).To save a VM diskfile, you need to add a REDO - file (addredo) or you have to suspend or poweroff the VM (and revers after save) - this all is done by save_vm in a controlled manner.save_vm is running on a W2K (or higher Version) server or workstation.
