TrustPort WebFilter introduces an effective way to manage access to the Internet, which is performed by effectively blocking unsuitable web pages and barring individual web pages by checking their content. FunctionsOCo It blocks or allows users access specific web pages.OCo It applies White/Black lists (lists of permitted or blockedaddresses).OCo It can also be set to allow or prohibit users direct accessregardless of the configured filter.OCo The various modes that TrustPort WebFilter can be set to are:Block OCo if a given URL is listed under Block, then the page isblocked. Permit OCo if a given URL is listed under Permit, the page is then shown (useful for organizations that want to allow access toonly certain domains and have the remaining content blocked).Monitor OCo the category of visited pages is permanently monitored.Filtration abilities:OCo High level filters - Can deny access to individual pages andevaluate the content of URLs as they search parts of a page,or even entire domains.OCo Rule based filters - called OEM box, these are regularly updated via automatic updates.OCo User defined filter - called USER, where it is possible to enter exact domains or URLs that the user wishes to block. This list has been adapted for entering large amounts of data.OCo Heuristic filter - analyses page content. It is used in caseswhere none of the above mentioned filters detects anything.Pages, or even entire sites, have their content analyzed andare then categorized. The results are cached for future use,making new analysis unnecessary. Heuristic analysis can beswitched on and off separately.OCo Time filter OCo operates with the OEM box, USER filter andHeuristic filter. It sets the activation of WebFilter (the switchingfrom the Active mode to Monitor mode).
